Shopee Thailand Updates Sub-Account Permissions
Shopee Thailand has announced an update to sub-account permissions, effective February 27, 2026. The change aims to enhance consistency and security for sellers across all channels, including Seller Centre, the Shopee App, and seller-side platforms. Under the new rules, if a main account needs a sub-account to perform shipping operations, it must now grant both "Shipping" and "Order Management" permissions simultaneously. Furthermore, to allow a sub-account to edit shipping settings across all channels—such as enabling/disabling Cash on Delivery or activating/deactivating logistics channels—the main account must specifically grant the "Edit Shipping Settings" permission. This move clarifies permission boundaries and strengthens overall account security management for local sellers.
Taichung Shopee Seller Arrested for Selling Fake Diplomas
Prosecutors in Taichung have cracked down on a case involving the sale of counterfeit academic certificates on the Shopee platform. A woman surnamed Zhu is accused of selling "extremely realistic" fake diplomas for NT$5,000 each between July 2024 and May 2025. Her method involved downloading templates and seals from various universities, then filling in the buyers' personal information. Among the nine confirmed buyers, six were military personnel who purchased fake high school or university diplomas, with police suspecting motives related to promotions, bonuses, or specific departmental requirements. Other buyers purchased fake doctoral degrees from National Taiwan University and master's degrees from Feng Chia University. Evidence was seized last year, and ten individuals involved have been indicted on forgery charges.
