Shopee Thailand to Charge $8 Return Fee for Unclaimed COD Packages

To optimize logistics services, Shopee Thailand will implement a new policy starting March 11, 2026 (Beijing Time). For Cash on Delivery (COD) packages that are returned due to buyer non-pickup or failed delivery and meet cross-border return conditions, a return shipping fee of $8 per package will be charged. This fee applies to eligible COD return orders generated on or after March 11, 2026, where the package value reaches $20 or more (this is a reference amount, subject to actual judgment). Sellers should factor this potential cost into their pricing and logistics planning for the Thai market, especially for higher-value COD orders.

Lazada Partners with Sanrio to Launch Exclusive IP Series in Thailand

Lazada has entered a strategic partnership with global character brand Sanrio to launch an exclusive fashion collection featuring IPs like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll in Thailand. This marks the first large-scale introduction of a globally renowned IP licensing project in the Thai e-commerce space. The move highlights Southeast Asia's growing appeal for brand expansion, driven by a young population (over 60% under 35) that is a key consumer force for cultural and creative products. For cross-border sellers, this trend underscores the rising importance of brand power, product authenticity, and premium offerings in a market where the middle class is projected to reach 330 million by 2030.

Shopee Malaysia Updates Sub-Account Permissions for Shipping

Shopee Malaysia has updated its sub-account permission settings, effective February 27, 2026. Main account holders must now explicitly grant sub-accounts access to "Arrange Shipment" and "Edit Shipping Settings" functions. Previously, sub-accounts could perform these order fulfillment operations without separate authorization. To configure permissions, main accounts need to access all platforms (Seller Centre, Shopee App, Seller App). Specifically, to allow a sub-account to arrange shipments, the main account must check both "Operate Orders" and "Shipping & Orders" permissions. To grant access to edit shipping settings (e.g., change logistics channels), the "Edit Shipping Settings" permission must be checked separately. Sellers should promptly review and configure these settings to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
